Create your Green and Jack’s men’s shirts with a stylish wing collar

The Wing Collar evolved in the early 17th century and is a later version of the Gladstone collar as worn by the British Prime Minister William Ewart Gladstone, a small standing collar with the points pressed to stick out horizontally, like "wings".

Worn mostly by gentlemen as an evening dress shirt during Black Tie events. This collar is sutable to be worn with a bow tie. Our reccomendation is to wear wing collar shirts with a traditional bow tie that does not come with a ready made knot.

When a wing collar is created with rounded tips then this is popularly known as a butterfly collar. Green and Jack's men's shirt maker can create bespoke dress shirts with wing collars to your measurements. For weddings please see Victorian swept wing collars.
